Pastor's Bio
 

Dr. Frederick J. Smith is a prophetic voice that God has ordained to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Nassau, Bahamas, he is the founder and Senior Pastor of the Bridge Christian Center with his lovely wife, Rochelle. Dr. Smith has an extensive background in community service development and church governance. Dr. Smith is the CEO and President of Fred J. Smith International, Leaders Edge, and Leaders Edge Academy. Dynamic organizations that help people, businesses, and corporations discover their edge in leadership.

He has an associate degree in science from Southern Union Community College, a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Jacksonville State University, and a master’s degree in public administration with concentrations in business administration and education counseling. He is also a graduate of the Alabama Association of Nonprofits Executive Leadership Institute (NELI). NELI focuses on leadership, community development, and non-profit governance.

He earned his accreditation as a Chartered Advisor in

Philanthropy® from The American College in December of 2021. The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) program by the American College is a designation awarded to those who fulfill the rigorous educational, experience, and ethical requirements. In 2023, Dr. Smith was awarded an honorary doctorate from CICA International University & Seminary for his years of kingdom leadership, community development, and humanitarian efforts. In 2023, Dr. Smith received an Ambassadorial Appointment with Word of Life Ministries International as Commander of the Most Noble Order of Global Peace Ambassadors.

WOLMI is an international Fully Gospel Organization accredited by the United Nations Economic and Social Council. In 2023, Dr. Smith was promoted to Vice President of Community Partnerships at the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. The Community Foundation is a philanthropic leader in Northeast Alabama. He has held leadership roles in higher education, serving as the Jacksonville State University Wellness-Anniston program director for Jacksonville State University. This program was recognized by local, state, and national partners for its contribution to community development and wellness education. Some other marketplace bridge-building Dr. Smith has led include serving as a college instructor at Gadsden State Community College in the statewide initiative Ready to Work program.

On multiple occasions and as recent as 2025, Dr. Smith was selected to be a part of the Alabama Delegation of Leaders sent to Washington, D.C., to speak with lawmakers and representatives on behalf of the state's constituents and not-for-profit organizations. In 2013, The Bridge Christian Center launched the Bridge of Hope feeding program for people experiencing poverty and food insecurity. To date, the program has given over 200 thousand pounds of food to the community. In 2014, Dr. Smith completed the Dr. Myles Munroe Kingdom Institute. It was the last institute personally taught by Dr. Munroe before he transitioned to heaven. He is also a gifted teacher of God’s word, a developer of kingdom strategies, and prophetic insight into the value of the kingdom process.

Dr. Smith met and married Mrs. Rochelle Smith after completing college here in the United States. They live in Jacksonville, Al, with their two daughters, Eden and Zion. The purpose of the Bridge Christian Center is to exalt Jesus Christ our King and to teach the principles of His kingdom. We believe that the finished work of Jesus on Calvary is the bridge that bridges the gap between heaven and earth. We believe God will use His people to build kingdom bridges in the earth!
